It's Barbie vs Crocodile Dundee in the battle of the Malibu mansion listings

In the land of tiny dogs and gargantuan homes, nothing stops a celebrity publicist – even if her client is only 30 centimetres tall.

According to the latest media release from glitzy LA, Barbara Millicent Roberts (or Barbie, as she is known to hundreds of millions of little girls worldwide) is upping sticks from the tony LA suburb.

Barbie is putting her “Dreamhouse” on the market, seeking a cool $25 million for the three-level pink mansion (pictured above), which exists mainly in girls' imaginations.

Its tongue-in-cheek marketing describes it as "designed as the ultimate bachelorette compound, it's perfect for A-Listers, internet entrepreneurs, entertainment moguls and dolls of all ages who love to entertain yet want to relax and take in the never-ending ocean view."

Of course, the buyer pool may be somewhat limited given the house has only three sides and is made of plastic.

Who better to sell a celebrity doll's fake house than a celebrity agent? Star of hit Foxtel show Million Dollar Listing Josh Altman is the "selling agent" for the marketing caper.

The 54-year-old Barbie is even reported to be thinking of relocating Down Under for her next "Dreamhouse" purchase.

Mattel marketing director for Australia Amanda Allegos said: "Barbie is more popular than ever in Australia, and we’re very excited at the prospect of her moving.  Barbie, is a sun, surf and sand doll and Australia can certainly offer all three, we’re hoping she will include a trip to see her Aussie fans in her world tour itinerary!"

Barbie's Malibu neighbour Paul Hogan's real-life listing is a little more low-key. The Crocodile Dundee star and his wife, Linda Kozlowski, are seemingly flipping their Malibu estate. It's an elegant Victorian era home which after only six months of ownership, is up for sale.

It's a 6,382-square-foot (593-square-metre) Grasswood Avenue home (pictured below).

It was reported in July last year that the couple bought the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home for $3,800,000 after selling another Malibu home for $6,475,000.

It comes with ocean views from underneath its vaulted ceilings.

The renovated home has been revamped to European sensibility, with neutral tones.

The master suite includes a sitting area, two large walk-in closets and private lanai. There’s three additional ensuited bedrooms, a beautiful gourmet chef’s kitchen, library and office spaces.

Outside there’s also a one-bedroom guesthouse and three-car garage.
