John Symond raises $36,000 plus for Movember with Clark Gable/Sergeant Schultz look

Aussie Home Loans boss John Symond has raised more than $36,000 over the month of "Movember", with his well-groomed moustache drawing comparisons to Clark Gable and Magnum PI.

Symond was the face of the Aussie 'SyMOs' – a team of 44 Aussie brokers and employees who all grew moustaches in support of the cancer and men’s depression awareness monthly charity campaign.

The team has ranked fifth out of 19,000 teams who have taken part in Movember.

Speaking to David Koch on Sunrise this week, Symond said he’d asked his mates if he looked more like Hollywood icon Clark Gable or TV star MagnumPI and was told that he looked more Sergeant Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes with his catch phrase: “I know nothing”.

“Very cruel, my friends, very cruel,” said Symond, who plans to shave off his moustache as soon as the clock strikes midnight November 30.
