Auction listing numbers have fallen dramatically in Sydney, more so than Melbourne this election weekend as vendors avoid the clash.

Auction numbers in Melbourne this weekend have fallen about 14% over the same weekend last year with 422 properties scheduled to go under the auction hammer.
Sydney’s south is the most popular region with 43 scheduled followed by the inner west with 32 and the lower north shore with 29 properties.
The most popular suburb for auctions is Beverly Hills in the south with four offerings.
Australian Property Monitors senior economist, Dr Andrew Wilson said the recent top regional performer was the lower north shore with an August clearance rate of 82.4% followed by the inner west with 82.2% and Sydney’s south with an 82.1 % success rate.

The most popular regions for auctions in Melbourne are the inner east and the north east with 75 listings apiece this weekend.
The inner bayside has 62 auctions scheduled auctions.
