Treat website photos with caution: Tips for expat Australian property buyers

Buyers’ agents name over-reliance on website photos as one of the biggest traps for expat property buyers.

“Wide-angle lenses make a property look as if it has more space than it does,” warns Rich Harvey of propertybuyer.

“There is no substitute for an on-the-ground inspection [by buyers or their representatives].

“You have to visit the home to see what the noise is like and what’s on the adjacent land,” Harvey emphasises.

And an inspection would show how the aspect of the land affects different rooms in a home.
