Fitzroy North weekend auction tipping
By
Emma Krieger
The last auction in Alfred Crescent, Fitzroy North was one of Melbourne’s biggest auctions of the year. A massive crowd looked on as two buyers went head to head for almost an hour, until the hammer finally fell at $4.2 million. “On Saturday number 41, the property right next door, is being put up for competition. Although the houses are different the block of land is a similar size at around 740 square metres,” says Mark Armstrong of Property Tycoon. “Properties like these are very hard to find and although another large crowd is expected it remains to be seen if it reaches the dizzy heights of its neighbour.” “Agent Nick West from Nelson Alexander has indicated buyer interest is around $3 million-$3.3 million.” “The successful purchaser of Unit 2/30 Kareela Road, Cremorne Point will be able to avoid the Sydney traffic and wander down and catch the ferry to work. The property is unique in that it shares no common walls with neighbouring apartments.” “The three-bedroom apartment has views over Mosman Bay and was purchased by its current owner in 2009 for $870,000. Even though the Sydney market has not set the world on fire over the last few years the vendor hopes to pocket some extra cash when agent Matthew Smythe starts accepting bids in excess of $950,000.”
