A ground-floor retail shop has sold in a new Melbourne residential tower 33M for $650,000. The MacKenzie Street tower, being developed by CEL Australia with a scheduled 2013 finish, is located between Exhibition and Russell streets. It comprises of 372 apartments and two ground floor retail shops. Shop 2 has been sold by agent Daniel Wolman from Colliers International to a local owner-occupier, who will operate a high-end quality café and convenience store in the 90-square-metre space. The building 33M is marketed as a development offering residential lifestyle features similar to those expected in a luxury resort, without the associated expense. Designed by Elenberg Fraser Architects, with further design work by Oculus, the tower consists of five rooftop common areas, a sky gymnasium on level 31 along with lap and relaxation pools on level four. One-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in the 33M tower have sold out with the bulk of its prices between $329,000 to $660,000 when marketed in early 2011. Colliers has confirmed that shop 1 is still available for sale. |
