Tilers in Queensland have taken a 51 percent pay rise after falling significantly short of the national average 2016, with hourly rates nearly $10 below the national average at the end of the financial year.

Tilers now earn 7 per cent more than the national average at $59.25/hour, making them the best paid in Australia.

Overall tradies in Queensland have strongly benefitted from the housing construction boom with a 9 per cent rise in hourly rates over the past year.

In the last quarter alone prices have surged by 3 per cent according to new data released by find-a-tradie site ServiceSeeking.com.au.
