GALERIE, the latest Glen Iris apartment development by LDS Property, is following its development timeline to a tee following its launch last September.

The project of just 29 two and three-bedroom apartments, secured over 40 per cent of sales before it kicked off its build a few months ago. It had early success in the market from local downsizers and empty nesters who wanted to stay in the Glen Iris postcode, but hadn't found the right downsizer product.

The High Street block, being built by award-winning construction company lurada, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

In a sign of confidence, a buyer opted to amalgamate two of the top floor apartments to create one large apartment which sold for just over $4 million, setting a suburb record in the process.

One of the other top floor apartments was also bought by a close friend of the developer.

There's been nearly $11 million worth of sales in the boutique project since Projects by Buxton launched the project less than 12 months ago.

The Design

The low-rise building has been designed by Ewert Leaf, and sits in landscaping by John Patrick Landscape Architects.

Ewert Leaf Director Will Leaf said the inspiration behind GALERIE was born from an undeniable love of art.

"GALERIE is a curated collection of luxury residences where residents are privy to a world-renowned collection of private artworks, innovative architecture, and lush outdoor spaces," Leaf said.

The dynamic asymmetrical facade of GALERIE adds a unique touch to the High Street streetscape, combining brick, timber, and concrete, while cascading greenery softens the building's form.

The Apartments

The two, and three-bedroom apartments boast expansive landscape courtyards or elevated balconies, offering views of the metropolitan area.

The open-planned living spaces have been designed to seamlessly integrate with the surrounding landscape through large windows and sliding doors, providing residents with a direct connection to nature.

The gallery-style lobby welcomes residents with a bespoke Chaumet Chandelier and textured walls adorned with a curated private collection of world-class artworks.

The Location

GALERIE is located at 1538-1540 High Street, a 1,825 sqm site which was secured by LDS in 2021.

Near the High Street and Burke Road intersection, GALERIE is set at the residential area of High Street, offering easy access to the Monash Freeway and Glen Iris Park and Wetlands.

The High Street tram runs past the development, while the Glen Iris Train Station is just 700 metres away.

Gardiners Creek is 850 metres away, Central Park 600 metres, and the Harold Holt Swim Centre 450 metres from the front door.

GALERIE is also in close proximity to some of Melbourne’s most exclusive education institutions such as Sacre Coeur and Korowa Anglican schools, and the internationally renowned Monash University Caulfield Campus.
